Riverside High School, located in El Paso, Texas prides themselves on equipping their students to take charge of preparing themselves academically for the challenges of postsecondary life. To pursue this vision, Riverside High School established a career center that offers pathway programs geared to help every student, regardless of their college or career plans after high school graduation.
One of these career pathway programs includes culinary arts. This is a two-year program offering students the chance to learn various tasks and skills required for employment in the culinary arts industry. The environment facilitates a learning experience that combines classroom instruction with actual business and industry career experiences.
When creating this culinary classroom, the Ysleta Independent School District and ASA Architects were searching for a flooring system that would be low maintenance, easy-to-clean and would minimize the amount of cleaning chemicals typically needed. Ultimately, ASA Architects was introduced to Altro Stronghold 30 through the guidance of an Altro sales representative.
There were many factors that led to ASA Architects specifying Altro Stronghold 30 including its slip resistance rating and how it is designed to minimize risk in wet and greasy conditions for the lifetime of the flooring. Additionally, BTC Construction installed Altro Stronghold 30 seamlessly. The cove base installation was highly recommended for hygiene and cleaning purposes. Altro products are engineered to be non-porous, non-fibrous and non-shedding, so nothing can get in or out. And because they have high impact resistance and there is nowhere for bacteria to hide.
With Altro Stronghold 30 installed in the culinary classroom, Riverside High School can safely prepare its students with a variety of skills that will benefit them in a fast-changing culinary art-based workplace.
