Crack'd Kitchen

Cracking down on kitchen safety with Altro

Altro Stronghold 30

Massachusetts, USA - Crack’d Kitchen is a small chain that started in Massachusetts, and has expanded to other states including New Hampshire and Florida. Inspired by the love of breakfast sandwiches, their mission is to achieve the perfect combination of efficiency, convenience, quality, and hospitality.

Crack’d Kitchen is dedicated to enhancing the experiences of both dine-in and take-out guests. With this commitment in mind, the restaurant took a significant step by installing safety flooring in their back-of-house area. This decision aimed to ensure that their staff could efficiently craft high-quality sandwiches, prepare handcrafted coffee beverages and perform other tasks without compromising their safety.

42 Architecture is a firm that specializes in restaurant design. The owner and founder of 42 Architecture, Justin Alpert, collaborated with Altro Sales Representatives to create a safe and efficient space at this Crack’d Kitchen location. Altro Stronghold 30 was selected due to its exceptional slip resistance rating and its specific design to minimize risks in wet and greasy conditions throughout the flooring’s lifespan.

According to Alpert, one of main reasons he specified this product is because, “Altro Stronghold 30 lays out in sheets that continue along curved coves, resulting in easy-to-clean floors. It also provides a smooth surface, which makes it easier for rolling items like kitchen equipment on casters and hand trucks.” Crack’d Kitchen was also searching for a flooring option that would provide comfort for their staff, who spend extended periods of time on their feet. At 3mm thick, Altro Stronghold 30 offers comfort underfoot and is better acoustically than hard surfaces like tile or epoxy.

With the installation of Altro Stronghold 30, the entire Crack’d Kitchen staff can work with the assurance that the risk of slipping and underfoot fatigue has been significantly reduced.
