Founded in 1871, La Salle Academy has provided an exceptional college preparatory education to young people from Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Connecticut. Located on a beautiful 29-acre campus in the heart of Providence’s historic Elmhurst neighborhood, the school boasts state-of-the-art classrooms and science labs.
To maintain the high standard set by La Salle Academy, the school needed to upgrade its facility’s flooring. They sought to incorporate the Great Seal into the school’s floor and feature the mascot in the science lab, creating a unique pattern that wouldn’t detract from the logo designs.
Working alongside Altro representatives, Office Direct and EP Floors, La Salle Academy specified Altro Quartz Tile. According to Meghan Robinson, Senior Designer at Office Direct, “The ability to be able to include logo designs within the flooring was really the number one reason why we chose Altro. Also, the simplistic design to the Altro Quartz Tile where the logo would stand out was another main reason for the specification as well as the vast colors available.”
Altro Quartz Tile is ideal for high-traffic areas, offering chip and marble patterns and endless design options for commercial, industrial or public sector applications. Additionally, the tiles are occupancy-ready, eliminating the need for the initial application of floor finish.
Though vinyl composition tile (VCT) offers a lower installation cost, La Salle Academy opted for the long-term benefits of Altro Quartz Tile. VCT’s constant maintenance costs can make it more expensive within five years, while Altro Quartz Tile maintains its durability and appeal for over 20 years. La Salle Academy was looking for a product that would withstand high traffic without the need for frequent maintenance, and Altro Quartz Tile met those needs perfectly.
With Altro Quartz Tile installed, La Salle Academy has successfully achieved both its aesthetic and functional goals with a robust flooring solution that will stand the test of time.
