What is ResiLoop?

ResiLoop is Australia's first national stewardship scheme for resilient flooring. This initiative, launched by the Australian Resilient Flooring Association (ARFA) in 2022 with Australian Government funding, aims to address the recycling challenges posed by resilient floorcoverings. The scheme is designed to tackle the annual 60,000 tonnes of flooring waste generated from installation and end-of-use. Altro is one of 14 founding members committed to bringing this initiative to fruition.

ResiLoop focuses on research and development to create solutions for recycling resilient floorcoverings such as sheet vinyl, linoleum, rubber, Luxury Vinyl Tiles, and hybrid tiles. These durable products have a market that has expanded significantly over the past decade. Launched in 2024, ResiLoop’s success hinges on establishing local markets for recycled materials. To achieve this, ARFA has mobilised industry investment to support ongoing research and prepare for the scheme’s rollout. Visit this link to learn more about ResiLoop.

Altro, known for its commitment to sustainability, is excited to be a founding member of ResiLoop. The company has a history of championing green initiatives through its Recofloor program in the UK but sees ResiLoop as a vital step towards local recycling solutions in Australia. Altro’s APAC Commercial Manager, Tim Attard, emphasises the company's dedication to sustainability and its enthusiasm for witnessing ResiLoop's growth, viewing it as a significant advancement in the vinyl flooring industry's environmental efforts.
