Held at Hitchin Town Hall on Friday 28 March, the awards celebrated local heroes across various categories, from young achievers to environmental champions. As sponsors, we had the privilege of presenting the Health Award to an inspiring winner—Maggie Hackney.
Maggie has been a tireless advocate for blood donation awareness and founded Hitchin AED more than 20 years ago, ensuring public access to life-saving defibrillators. Her commitment to volunteering and community health has had a lasting impact, making her a truly deserving recipient of this award. It was an honour for the Altro team to meet Maggie and celebrate her achievements.
Beyond the awards, the evening also raised funds for the Chairman’s charity, Sands, which work to support anyone affected by pregnancy loss or the death of a baby. The generosity and spirit of the event reflected the strength of our local community and the power of coming together to support one another.
A huge congratulations to all the winners and nominees who continue to make North Herts a better place.
We’re proud to be part of a community that values kindness, dedication, and innovation—and we look forward to supporting more initiatives that celebrate local heroes in the future.
