The new four-star Radisson Blu Hotel, Mannheim brings international chic into the city. The 229 rooms and suites set standards in design and comfort whilst industrial design, high-quality natural materials and color-accentuated accessories determine the stylish, puristic ambience. Over 7000m² of flooring was required for the guest rooms, hallways, conference area and restaurant.
For the new hotel, Raimund Förg, project manager of Diringer & Scheidel, the owner of Mannheim, wanted a floor that reduced sound reverberation while having comfort underfoot. Low odour and sustainability were also important in the floor selection.
Altro Ensemble was selected for the hotel. At 2.6mm thick, it provides 15dB sound reduction with a durable, matt surface in wood, stone and bloc colour options. With four modular sizes to choose from, it can be combined as desired to create a unique floor that will fit into any design. Altro created a special colour for the hotel to match the interior design of the hotel.

The flooring in the hotel looks really good; it is warm and dignified, while being quiet and environmentally friendly.
