The Deep Aquarium is an education and conservation charity and one of the UK’s largest aquariums, with over 3500 fish, stunning marine life and plenty of activities for all the family. Located in Hull, The Deep Aquarium takes visitors on a journey of the world’s oceans travelling through a unique blend of beautiful marine life from warm tropical waters to the cold Antarctic seas.
With an average of 450,000 visitors a year, the high footfall had worn out the floors and needed to be replaced.
The Deep was keen to install a safety vinyl flooring for the visitor walkways and ramps. As The Deep is open from 10 am – 6 pm daily, work had to be undertaken at night. The gift shop and Two Rivers Restaurant were closed for the installation.
Altro Reliance 25 was selected to provide a durable solution underfoot for the visitor walkways to keep visitors safe.
Altro Wood was installed in the restaurant. Altro Ensemble, a modular flooring system, was installed in the customer Gift shop. All the products were chosen for their ease of installation, designs and guarantees.

We chose the Altro flooring range based on their safe, hard wearing and attractive appearance for our customers. The choice in range appealed, giving us solutions to the different areas and environments within the attraction, complementing the styling and quality needed to work within the aquarium.
