The Thelma Chalifoux School aims to nurture and empower each student to become their best self. The school believes in the power of creativity, personal growth, and the principle of otipêmisiwak—teaching students the importance of self-accountability and being their own boss. The school offers unique programmes, including a diverse range of extracurricular activities with a strong emphasis on the value of STEM education in developing resilience, problem-solving skills, and an innovative mindset.
The design team ACI Architecture Inc. required a resilient flooring collection for the new school, that would provide vibrant colours, ensure durability, and offer ease of maintenance. Floors needed to be provided for corridors, bathrooms, toilets, and to provide wayfinding to different areas throughout the school.
In addition to colour, Altro Orchestra provides sound insulation up to 15dB, delivering both underfoot comfort and noise reduction for the school’s bustling corridors. With Altro Orchestra installed, the Thelma Chalifoux School was able to create the right atmosphere for its community, laying the foundation for many years to come.
Altro Orchestra provides 15dB sound reduction and comfort underfoot in wide choice of colours and five designs. With excellent resistance to residual indentation, it’s great in corridors, classrooms, housing, patient / resident rooms, and retail spaces.
