Globe Mills, a famous worsted textile mill built in 1887, underwent a £30m refurbishment to make four floors into apartments with the ground floor transformed into retail space. The existing floor was York stone slabs of various thicknesses that had to be removed. Altroproof Solo was applied on top of the new subfloor. Altro Flexiflow resin flooring was selected for its flexibility that would move with the old building, as well as providing comfort underfoot and noise reduction compared to stone tile. Altro Flexiflow was also selected for its green credentials: it is manufactured using up to 48% post-consumer recyclates making it the most environmentally friendly, seamless resin floor on the market.
