When a space has been designed specifically for the people who will use it, it shows – or, it doesn’t show. The touches that make a care home reception welcoming but easy to negotiate, or a busy university communal space light but cosy, can sing or be subtle but each element plays a key role in the overall look. The Altro design team, along with the occasional guest designer, are designing a series of rooms to inspire, or borrow from directly.
